Most common cause

A command that needs the file exclusively (DLTF, CHGPF, RNMOBJ, MOVOBJ) finds it open in another job.

Other causes

  • The same job still has the file open, in a program that ended without LR or in an activation group still active.
  • A server job (for example QZDASOINIT for ODBC and JDBC) keeps the file open on an idle connection.

How to fix it

WRKOBJLCK shows who uses it. Close the file in your job (RCLRSC, end of the activation group) or wait for the other jobs to finish.
