CPF4131 Level check on the file

Most common cause

The file changed (re-created, CHGPF, ALTER TABLE) after the program was compiled: the record format level identifier no longer matches the one stored in the program.

Other causes

  • The library list leads the program to another copy of the file, for example the test one instead of production.
  • The file was restored from another system with a different layout.

How to fix it

Recompile the programs that use the file: DSPPGMREF tells you which. Check that the library list leads to the right file. LVLCHK(*NO) is only a temporary workaround: if the layout really changed, data is read into the wrong fields.
