Standard support

What it brought

  • Version 4 does not run on the CISC models (IMPI processors): Bxx, Cxx, Dxx, Exx, Fxx, 100, 135, 140, 2xx and 3xx
  • With Version 4, OS/400 is included in the system price, and the per-user charges are dropped
  • OS/400 Version 4 ships on CD-ROM, together with the manuals
  • SSL 3.0 support

The additions listed apply to the whole of Version 4, as the IBM handbook of 2000 describes it: those specific to V4R1 are not listed yet.
