Most common cause
A packed or zoned numeric field holds invalid data. It matches MCH1202.
Other causes
- A data structure without INZ with numeric subfields.
- Parameters defined differently in caller and callee.
- Records in the file with blanks in a numeric field.
How to fix it
Initialize data structures and fields, align prototypes, fix the data in the file. FIXNBR(*ZONED) at compile time repairs some zoned cases, but hides the problem instead of solving it.
