CPF5029 Data mapping error on the record
Most common cause
The record holds invalid decimal data in a packed or zoned field (blanks or x'00'). Typical after a CPYF FMTOPT(*NOCHK) or writes from programs with overlapping data structures.
Other causes
- A logical file converts a field (date or numeric) and the source value cannot be converted.
- Data loaded by external transfers with no checks.
How to fix it
The message gives file, member and record number, and the CPF5035 before it in the job log says which fields are wrong. If the record number is zero, the error happened while writing or updating, and the program is what needs fixing; otherwise the bad record is already in the file: fix it with an SQL UPDATE or with DFU, then find the process writing the bad data, or the problem comes back.
