SQLCODE -204
SQL0204 Object not found
- IBM message text
- &1 in &2 type *&3 not found.
- SQLCODE
- -204
- SQLSTATE
- 42704
Most common cause
The table or object is not found. On IBM i the most common cause is the naming convention: with SQL naming an unqualified name is looked up in the default schema (usually the one named after the user), not in the library list.
Other causes
- Name misspelt, or object in another library.
- An SQL service queried in the wrong form: FROM TABLE(X()) on a view, or FROM X on a table function.
- A table function called with the wrong number of arguments: it answers "not found" even though it exists.
- An object in another job's QTEMP (pooled JDBC connections).
How to fix it
Qualify the object, set the schema with SET SCHEMA, or use system naming: NAMING(*SYS) on CRTSQLRPGI, naming=system plus the library list in JDBC and ODBC. Before deciding a service is missing, ask the catalog whether it is a view (QSYS2.SYSTABLES) or a function (QSYS2.SYSROUTINES).
